The most important economical sectors in the region are tourism, fishing and agriculture (oranges).

The most important industries are related to tourism and cork industry.

3) What is the average age of workers?
The average age of workers is 34 (for women) and 35 (for men).

4) What is the average salary?
The average monthly salary is 740 euros.

5) Are there unemployment cases? What are the reasons?
Yes, there are many unemployment cases. There are many causes: the international crisis, and the lack of qualifications of many of the workers.

6) What is the average size of the local companies?
Most of the local companies in the Algarve are small or medium size.

7) Which are the most wanted jobs in the region?
The most wanted jobs are related to services, health departments (nurse, doctor), or tourism (waiters, chefs...).

8) What is the average retirement age?
The average retirement age is 62.3.

IIº Pequeno-Almoço saudável/2nd Healthy Breakfast

Devido ao sucesso alcançado da primeira vez, os formandos dos 1º e 2º anos (CEF) decidiram repetir a actividade “Pequeno-almoço saudável” no dia 29 de Janeiro. Como se pode verificar pelas imagens, a actividade superou todos os objectivos previstos e foram servidos cerca de 150 pequenos-almoços!

The activity “Healthy Breakfast” took place for the 2nd time on the 29th January 2009 and over 150 breakfasts were served. For only 1 euro, teachers, staff and students could enjoy eating and drinking healthy food.

Fielg trip to Lisbon

No dia 23 de Janeiro de 2009 os alunos do Curso CEF (1º e 2º anos) realizaram uma Visita de Estudo a Lisboa, à Bolsa de Turismo. A acompanhá-los, foram os professores Carlos Cardoso, Margarida; Marina ,Elisabete Diegues e Luís Santos.

On the 23rd January 2009, the students (CEF 1st and 2nd year) went on a field trip to Lisbon (BTL). With them went the following teachers: Carlos Cardoso, Margarida Rodrigues, Marina , Elisabete Diegues e Luís Santos.

Jantar de Natal / Christmas dinner

No dia 19 de Dezembro de 2008, pelas 20.00h, realizou-se um Jantar de Natal na Cantina da Escola E.B. 2,3 Poeta Emiliano da Costa. O serviço esteve a cargo dos alunos dos cursos CEF de 1º e 2º ano e compareceram ao jantar cerca de 100 pessoas de entre professores, funcionários, alunos dos Cursos EFA e ex-alunos desta escola.
Neste jantar, contámos também com a presença do Sr. Presidente da Câmara de Faro.

A Christmas dinner took place at the School Canteen, on the 19th December 2008 at 20.00h. Catering service was held by the students who attend the 1st and 2nd year (CEF). Almost 100 teachers, staff and EFA students joined for dinner and we also had the presence of the Mayor of Faro.
